Pyrotec PackMark, a division within Pyrotec that supplies coding and labelling equipment, is in the process of realising its three year ambition: to be the market leaders within its category.

Through its PackMark brand, Pyrotec provides factory-level coding and labelling equipment to a range of South African manufacturing companies, and is the sole distributor of Markem-Imaje, Harland Machine Systems and ALtech Labellers in South Africa. Rowan Beattie, Pyrotec’s Managing Director, says: “We have seen enormous growth in this division which can largely be attributed to three reasons.Firstly, we only supply quality machinery, which are recognised for their excellent after-sales support and extended warrantees. Secondly, we have an extensive range of spare parts and an ultra-reliable supply of consumables. And lastly (and most importantly), we have an excellent team of people who are well-respected throughout the industry for their friendly, helpful service and willingness to go the extra mile.”
Consistent uptime of machinery is vital for an efficient, cost-effective manufacturing process. “We support our clients by having fully-equipped workshops in all of South Africa’s major cities,” explains Beattie. These workshops, conveniently located in Cape Town, Johannesburg, Durban and Port Elizabeth, offer clients a one-stop service station. The workshops are fully equipped with the facilities to cover all product technologies as well as an extensive range of spare parts, providing customers with direct access to the best support structure and technical expertise available.
“Our expert team of technicians are also available 24/7 to ensure that any machinery issues they may encounter are swiftly resolved. We are well-aware of the far-reaching consequences unplanned downtime has on production,” explains Beattie. “We have recently appointed a new Technical Expert to service East London and surrounding areas, as a result of our client base growing to such a large extent.”
Beattie also attributes much of PackMark’s success to its General Manager, Brandon Pearce. “Brandon began with us as the Technical Manager and through his consistent hard work and dedication, was eventually promoted to General Manager of PackMark. Brandon has worked hard since his appointment to turn this division around, and his efforts are reaping dividends.”
“We know our strategy is the right one so we will continue to provide top quality products and service. We won’t allow ourselves to get complacent as we aim to be the leading supplier in the coding and labelling industry in Southern Africa, and we are on the way to achieving this goal,” concludes Beattie.
