Designers: the 6th annual Makhulu Polane t-shirt design competition is open for entries

Big Blue’s 6th annual Makhulu Polane design competition is open for entries. Over the years Ideate has supported the annual Makhulu Polane (Big Idea) t-shirt design competition and watched it grow from strength to strength. The initiative aims to find the best design talent in SA.
What is it?
Makhulu Polane started in 2006 and is an original, annual event that encourages and celebrates South African design. Show us your Makhulu Polane and we’ll make you famous!
How to enter:
Designs can be submitted via design.makhulupolane.com, the Makhulu Polane website. This year’s design theme is ‘’Bottom of the school desk” – Big Blue is looking for t-shirt designs that explore this nostalgic theme. The competition is open to anyone (not just South Africans) and designers can submit multiple designs. The winning designer receives R20 000 in cash and their t-shirt will be sold in all Big Blue and Kitsch+Kool stores.
All illustrations can be scanned and uploaded. The competition closes for entries on 4th October, after which the top selected entries will be open for public voting.

READY, SET, GO! That’s us at Big Blue officially giving budding SA designers the go-ahead for the 2012 MAKHULU POLANE T-SHIRT DESIGN COMPETITION!
Stand a chance of winning R20 000 in cash for your design. This year’s Theme: MOERSE RANDOM
It’s our 6th Year running and we’re going stronger than ever. Big Blue wants you to “SHOW OFF YOUR MAKHULU POLANE”. The competition is open to ANYONE and EVERYONE, and better still, you can ENTER MULTIPLE designs (and boost your chances of winning!) So… Get started!!! What is “MOERSE RANDOM”? Anything goes so be creative, funky and fresh with your designs. Keep it unique and stay away from becoming a copy cat. If you can draw it, scan it or upload it, you’ll be in the game.
Go to http://www.makhulupolane.com and start uploading your BIG IDEA. T&C’s apply. The winning design will receive R20 000.00 in cash and be sold in Big Blue stores nationwide for two months. The design “most voted for by the public” will receive R5 000.00. Any additional design that gets used by Big Blue (excluding the above) will receive R2 000.00 in cash!
