Last week this time the Ideate team were at the second Silicon Cape event at the Old Biscuit Mill in Cape Town! We had such a great time so we thought we’d share it with you.

Rob van Vuuren (from Corne and Twakkie fame) took on the role of MC and had the crowd giggling like school girls. The event kicked off with some updates on the initiative from Co-founder of the Silicon Cape, Justin Stanford. Next up Christine Moon from Google treated us with Google’s plans for SA and the rest of the African continent and CEO of InVenFin Venture Capital, Brett Commaille chatted about seeking finance.

At the event entrepreneurs were also given the opportunity to take part in an Elevator Pitch competition. A few entrepreneurs were given 60 seconds to convince the audience how incredible their idea or company is.

Quirk did such a good job documenting the event that we would like to share one of their clips to give you a taste of how it all went down. They have more videos of the speakers so check them out here.

With over 400 people who attended, the event really created a spectacular platform of social networking. We had such a great time that Silicon Cape will definitely see us again!
