Everyone on Twitter has been raving about the iPad. People are still asking what it is. Well here’s a quick explanation of this little new innovation from Apple.
Here’s an easy way to explain it:
Cell Phone + iPod = iPhone
iPone + Macbook = iPad
Get it?
iPad offers Internet browsing, access to your email, video, music games and eBooks. You can create your own e-photo album as well. It features a multitouch screen interface with virtual keyboard, iTunes support and a Google Maps application featuring Street View. The device is also capable of high definition video and movie playback. On the iPad, you’ve got your calendar and all your contacts, you’ve got wi-Fi, video conferencing, 5 megapixel camera and a portrait mode feature which allows you to change the way you view web pages, documents and your emails.
What I could gather, the iPad goes for about $499 which is roughly R3800. Not bad if you ask me.

Only one problem…with only one importer for Apple products to South Africa we wont be looking R3800, we will be looking at something in the region of R5000.

I agree, converting US or UK prices aren’t very accurate for South Africans. Hopefully we’ll know for sure soon enough

I have to agree. I really respect Apple for their high quality innovative products but it is a bit expensive. I think it’s well worth it however.
