Nokia is sharing Ovi Maps with the world and everyone is talking about it on Twitter. Ovi Maps is Nokia’s latest version of mapping and navigation software. And Nokia Smartphone owners are getting it for Free!
Ovi Maps covers 180 countries, is available in over 70 countries worldwide and 46 different languages. The software is equipped with turn-by-turn voice guidance designed for people on the move. This location-based service application allows you to add personal location-based content and users will be able to get a new look interface, speed camera warnings, traffic information and even integration with Facebook.
According to Nokia the software is able to work even if the connection is lost. You could preload maps on your phone and use them in offline mode. Ovi Maps for web can be used on any browser and any operating system for PC or Mac.
Nokia also stated that as of March 2010, new Nokia smartphones that are GPS-enabled will have the latest Ovi Maps pre-installed with local country map data and high-end walk and drive navigation. Meanwhile, you can download Ovi Maps from the web for your Nokia phone.
