New Year Resolutions To Avoid

New Year was once again a huge celebration around the world. Apart from coming to an end of another chapter in our lives, it’s the beginning of a new and exciting chapter. With new beginnings New Year Resolutions follow. One thing about New Year Resolutions that we all know too well is that they are most of the time merely an impulsive decision that won’t last through the night. So, here are a few of those New Year Resolutions that are most broken in the world:
“My money in the bank will grow exponentially”
To save more money you need to know how to control your expenses and how to cut unnecessary things from your budget. Or perhaps you’d like to take on another source of income on the side to provide you with some extra money. The issue remains – to save more money you need to drop luxuries and work really well with your money.
“I’ll be more of a people person”
Some of us promise to be more people-oriented for a change and concentrate harder on how we talk or act around other people. This includes being more sociable, friendly and available. Thing is, most people won’t be able to pull this off for long. Those of you who were able to make it last – great stuff! But for the rest, be sure that they are the exception to the rule.
“I’ll be more organised”
Most people start with their bedrooms or offices and try to spread the habit onto other areas. You can’t just become one of those extra tidy people over night. You’ll soon lose momentum and stop completely. Rather than try and change so drastically start small and get a routine that suits you best.
“I will learn something new in the coming year”
Well, everyone has some longing to know more or try things they’ve never had the time or guts for. This includes like learning to play a new instrument or reading up on ancient Chinese traditions. Thing is, most people lose interest before they even start.
“I’ll never be late again”
So, what happens when you get sick when you wake up? Or what happens if there’s a huge accident on the high way? Things happen and you can’t change them. Rather try being more prepared and minimizing delays you can control.

Interesting! Most of the resolutions have to do with giving something up!
It think we inherintly want to give up the ‘bad’ things in our lives. The problem is that we don’t actually see them as that bad. Meaning that although our intention is good – but our heart is not in it.
Example: You think you’re over weight, well… people tell you that you’re overweight and therefore you begin to think it. So we decide to lose 10kg’s! This doesn’t work because we lose 8kgs and start to feel good and eventually we stop trying.
I wonder what happens when we resolve to do something WE want rather WE DONT want. Would the outcome change.
For example: Losing weight in order to run a marathon, find that hidden six pack, manage stress!
Resolve to do something where the reward is greater than the work and you will most likely achieve it.
PS: I resolve to blog more because the more I write the closer I get to writing a book one day!
