1 minute logoThis morning, we’re chatting with Jan Kotze from a new entrepreneurial venture that’s blazing the SA landscape, Instant Life. Like Discovery took aim at the Medical Aid sector, Instant Life looks to take the Life Insurance category by storm. What’s more, Jan and co. are offering a VERY special deal for Ideate readers, but… we’ll tell you all about that at the end of this article.

Jan, since we’re a pretty straight-up site, let’s get to the question everyone’s thinking – ‘what’s so different about your product?’ I mean there’s Hippo, 1lifedirect and probably a whole host of others waiting in the wings.
It’s simple, no middle man, no call center, no big overheads and easy to understand products. This means really affordable and great premiums.

This seems like quite an innovative and fresh venture – how has the take-up been?
Well, with very little marketing, great news has spread like wild fire and those in the know – who value their hard earned cash appreciate the offering and have seized the opportunity.

In terms of the South African insurance industry, are we saturated? I mean, it seems like such a competitive industry. That said, the last time the insurance category seemed flat, along came Discovery and blew everyone away – your thoughts…
Where a better deal is to be had for a greatly reduced investment there is room for a lot of growth. The fact is as a nation we only have roughly half the insurance we should have.

Instant Life seems to be an internet-driven product. Are you banking on what Arthur Goldstuck calls a ‘revoluton’ in the SA internet environment?
It’s a fact, the internet has revolutionised the way we communicate, interact and do business. Just look at the impact that social media sites such as Facebook and Twitter has had on us. Through Instant Life we will use the internet to revolutionise the life insurance business for the benefit of our clients. It’s the way to go!

Lastly, what’s the next phase for Instant life? Any more exciting developments in the near future?
Many. We have an interesting launch planned for early December so watch this space.

Awesome stuff Jan, we look forward to it. And so, to conclude – Ideate readers, we’ve negotiated a special deal for you – Instant Life is offering you a 5% discount off your premium when you click through to their site from Ideate.co.za. You will note that they are pretty competitively priced to start with. That’s how cool Instant Life is. And THAT’S how awesome Ideate is. To get started, all you got to do is click right here and follow the steps on the Instant Life site. Go!

Yup! I agree, even though the market seems saturated, there is always room for a better product/serice! And yes, internet & mobile leads marketing into the future! Remember when people didn’t want to buy fax machines, because they couldn’t see the use of them?

Yip, they’ve previously rolled the platfom out in Oz and New Zealand as wellhttp://blog.pinnaclelife.co.nz/?p=731 – I think their offering is going to do very well, given the price point.

I bought life insurance through Instant Life. Apart from saving a wack on my premiums, it is a fantastic buying experience; 10 min start to finish, including issuing the policy. I think the big life insurers should be very scared!!!

I believe the old fashioned insurers have been ripping off the market for way too long! It’s about time a company came along that empowered consumers to purchase “easy to understand” insurance. What a pleasure taking out a policy that I could read and understand without having to go through pages and pages of financial jargon!
