The more active you are the more others will hear what you have to say. Also, when sharing content or thoughts make sure it is of use or value to your followers. There is a fine balance to obtain though – do not just be your company and brag. People want to know about you and who you are.

If you are using Social Media only for staying in touch with friends and reading up on interesting posts, then even you can still benefit from it more. By building up a network of interesting people you might learn from or ask for help some day is never a bad thing.
