I’ve heard rumours of the Google car starting to map out the streets of South Africa, but I never would have expected that it would have reached the sleepy suburb of Plumstead in Cape Town. My wife spotted it doing the rounds this morning.
Here is the link to the map that will hopefully be displaying street-level pictures soon: Google Maps

Nice to see them using a Prius.

Nice! Wouldn’t it be fun to “borrow” that car and have some say in the areas that are mapped out..

We should nick it, then take pics of it around the country in various situations – then email the pics to Google HQ with little messages, e.g. “Having a great time in Riviersonderend; love the Google car!”

They are in Lonehill, Gauteng today. I had a look inside the vehicle – Cool! He was having a problem getting into gated areas. So I put him in touch with the LRA to assist him. We are going to be on the map!!!
