New design, new direction for Ideate!

Today is a big day for us. Shane, Andrew and I (the three main protagonists behind Ideate) are stoked to launch the first redesign for Ideate in two years. It’s kinda sad too, since the old design has been featured on pretty much every cool design gallery around the globe, and had more than just a few fans. We’re trying something new now – and with a new look comes new features. Here is a brief summary:
The new design is a WOOtheme. We decided to use a theme (despite the fact that we could easily have designed something ourselves) mostly because we figured it only right to pay homage to a successful SA start-up. Kudos to Adii, Mark and co for a great company. We’re proud to fly your flag here.
The strapline has changed from “Small Business in South Africa” to “Entrepreneurs thinking BIG”. The reason for this is because our own businesses have changed. We’re moving from small to medium – but we figure we still keep the superhero theme going in places.
We’re giving something back. The biggest change of all in our focus is we’re going to start giving stuff away. This blog gets tons of mail from businesses and agencies each month, mostly looking to promote their wares – so we’re going to start negotiating deals and giveaways in return for the publicity we give you.
Our first deal is a particularly exciting one – we’ve become mates with Sean Tucker, a social media specialist and video editor, who is kicking things off with an UNBELIEVABLY great deal. He’s giving Ideate readers a social media bundle, including one website, one corporate video, four social network profiles and twenty professional photos. This is a limited offer, so act fast. Click here to get stuck into Sean’s deal, and let us know how it goes.
On that note, if you’re a business or agency, and you’re looking to get some publicity for your product, drop us a line here.
So there it is. Your cleaner, simpler, more focused Ideate presence. We’re pretty sure it will have its detractors, but we’re confident we can provide better value for you, our valuable Ideate reader. Give us your feedback! We wait with nervous anticipation.
