How To Guide to Social Media for the Wine Industry

WineI’m looking forward to this. The legends at Cherryflava have been putting together some pretty rocking events lately, with the Brand Hooligans initiative rocking the streets of Cape Town and now Second Base. I’ve been invited to come and chat about the whole social media revolution and how it applies to the wine industry. Without going to detail, we’ll be covering the basics of blogging, digital brand basics, how it works and how it’s been effective in the past.

I’ll be joined by Jason Bagley, entrepreneur, A-list blogger and a colleague within World Wide Creative’s extended team. Together we’ll be doing a bunch of practical exercises to get the delegates’ feet wet; at the same time demonstrating some cool, nifty techniques within the social media environment.

After our presentation, Andrew Cardoza, an expert in mobile marketing and runs a company that sells innovative mobile marketing products will show us what they do, how they work and how they can drive sales using mobile technology.

Scoop: the boys at Cherryflava have still got a handful of seats left, and Ideate readers can still get in the mix. This talk is not necessarily only just for Wine Marketers, but for anyone in related industries – get in quick, these babies are hotter than a bottle of Chateau Libertas on a Stellenbosch student’s windowsill on a Saturday morning.

Interested? E-mail Jon Cherry – jon@cherryflava.com – and quote “Ideate”.

Fred Roed is the marketing guy in the Ideate crew. He runs a web marketing company called World Wide Creative and loves writing about people out there doing marketing right. View more articles by Fred.
