WomenAs we celebrate Women’s day this week and everyone is focusing their marketing attention on the fairer gender, I thought we could celebrate the fact that women make better entrepreneurs than us men: Earlier this year I developed a list of required attributes that business owners require to get and stay ahead in the world of fast finance and bustling business and to be honest women top us men at 8 out of 10.

So here they are; what makes a successful entrepreneur?

  • Creativity – ability to think outside the box of every day issues
  • Persistence – stickability when things get tough
  • Problem Solving – whole brain problem solving techniques
  • Multi Tasking – ability to do many things well at the same time
  • Balance – finding the right investment between family, business and self
  • Accountability – doing what you say you will do
  • Financial Acumen – money wise without hormonal attachment

Women have more of these characteristics naturally and therefore should become the leaders in the Entrepreneur Revolution. So this is a call to all you ladies out there to take up the reigns of life and begin to live your dream and passion, start that business you have always dreamt about and begin to stake your claim on society.

Us men will stay home and watch rugby and play with the kids.

I really find it unfortunate that our South African government is trying to perpetuate gender equality and yet some women are preaching a gospel of gender inequality.

When a women says she is better than a men it simply means that, that women is comparing her existance and purpose with that of a men or she is a competitor. Women should strieve to compete with other women on lifestyles such as ‘being entrepreneurs and being better mother’s and better wives and better girlfriends and being better lovers’

I do not percieve women competitors in the same level as Nurtures becasue real women and real men know that we are different and ego can only separate us.

Cats do not compare themselves with dogs and wind with sun, so why are we still perpetuating gender stereotyping in buisness, an entrepreneur is an entrepreneur and what makes them elite is their background not gender……

Xolani, I agree with you whole heartily, I never want to compare men and women against each other. We both have different qualities that give us unique abilities that translate into skill sets and outcomes.
I love your wind and sun reference, may I use it in our workshops, it speaks volumes.
So it is now up to us as gifted individuals to use what we have got to make our mark on the lives of others in a meaningful and positive way, both female and male alike.
