Wow. Has anyone seen this? Is it for real? It’s a video of a live action high speed police chase through the streets of Jonannesburg, so I’m told.
Reminding us, once again, that Africa is not for the faint hearted.
[Thanks Chris for the video]

Lol, must have been the ‘Hawks’, flying from one car to another and all.

Yeah… from the licence plate etc I don’t think that’s in SA.

Would be great to get clarity on where it’s from – anyone? anyone?

This looks more like a car hijacking than a police pursuit.

Please go to youtube.com and you will find that it is not the SAPS and definitely not in SA and that the clip was obtained from triplekiss.com and uploaded by PortasCas 3 years ago.
Stop jumping to conclusions!!!!

@C vd Merwe, thanks for the clarification.
Well – I guess that settles it then.
Mr vd Merwe, for those who’re wondering, is from the South African Police.
ok, moving on… nothing to see here…

Wouldn’t have surprised me if it were SA police. Saw a clip once of drug-enforcement police searching a (Cape town?) campus bar for drug dealers… They had guns out, were punching female students in the face, had everyone on the floor. No drugs were found.

Found it: It was Bohemia, Stellenbosch.

Try that in my country and we’ll burn down police headquarters!

@Fred – wow, that’s not cool.
However, I feel a bit ambivalent about these kind of stories…
On one hand it’s not acceptable behaviour under any circumstances, but one the other, you’ve got to feel for the task laid on the SAPS’ table. These guys are expected to be heroes, but the reality is that they’re largely underpaid, understaffed and dealing with complexities that we will never be able to comprehend.
Also (very importantly) up to now the leadership in the police force has left a lot to be desired… Let’s hope that’s changing.
