1-minute-logoLast week, I got an email from Theresa from the OPA the other day pointing me in the direction of “Homeboy“, a blog written by her 9yr old son Adamo. It’s too classic, with lines like ‘This is the first time South Africa came first in the Dakar rally. Today is also the day America’s first black president is inaugurated. I like Barack Obama.’ So naturally, since he represents the future of blogging, we decided to interview Adamo for Ideate.

Hey Adamo, when did you start blogging?
I started the beginning of January.

Are any of your mates blogging, or are you the only one?
I am the only one, some of them don’t even know what a blog is.

Do you think all kids your age should blog?
If they want to they should. I like blogging I write about what I like.

What blogs do you read?
I read Ideate, Cherryflava and Afrigator.

Good man, wise choices all. Have you voted in the SA Blog Awards 2009?
Not yet. But now it’s holidays so I’ll check it out.

Does your mom or dad blog?
No they don’t blog.

What are your favourite internet websites?
I like YouTube and car sites like Koenigsegg, Cartoday.com and Encarta.

Do you use Mxit?
No I don’t use Mxit.

What do you spend more time on – tv, your mobile phone or the net?
I spend most of my time on tv and tv games, my mom doesn’t allow me on the net all by myself. (I also like playing outside!)

Thanks Adamo – great chatting to you.! We’re pointing our RSS readers at Homeboy, and don’t forget to send us your CV in a few years time. For our readers, check out Adamo’s blog and enjoy some of the following pearls:

  • Saw a real life brand new Ford Mustang GTI this weekend in a car showroom. Man it’s cool – more than more than cool!!!!! It was silver with black stripes and awesome mags. The interior was as hot as hot could be!! It’s expensive though R990 000!! Wish my dad could buy that!!!
  • There’s lots of shooting, blood and explosions plus bodies but that’s what the war was like (talking about the video game ’Call of Duty’) I like soldiers and collect small lead soldiers from different countries and different wars. I’m so glad schools out and it’s the weekend so I’m off to go play!
  • I wouldn’t mind visiting space one day. My friend Matthew wants to build a rocket with restaurants and a hotel to take people to space in.

Now, that’s wayyy better than the stuff we write about here on Ideate!

Raising them younger and younger, aren’t we? :P

I’m just relieved that there are still 9yr olds out there that actually give a toss about things like spelling and grammar…
