South African Blog Awards

You may have noticed the big shiny gold tag on the right-hand side of the Ideate site, linking to the South African Blog Awards 2009. We think the competition is great for promoting the blogging industry in South Africa, and it’s always had our full support. Last year seemed to be the year that traditional “big” media had claimed this space, with East Coast Radio and the Mail & Guardian scooping 8 awards. Looking back at what I wrote about it last year has proved that I should leave crystal ball gazing to other people. This year ECR and Thought Leader only appear in 3 categories, and neither of them are in the running for the main prize. It looks like it will once again be the year of the small independents.
If you feel that Ideate is worthy of the title “Best Blog in South Africa”, click here to cast your vote. Remember to scroll to the bottom of the page and hit submit, and then also click on the confirmation link that will be sent to your e-mail address. Thanks for your support.
