The Ideate crew members are all huge fans of PR (see Andrew’s Magnum Opus on the topic here). PR presents a massively affordable alternative to regular advertising, and is in most cases a great way to get your name ‘out there’.
So it is with great interest that we are looking at the ‘PR Success Strategies For Your Business’ conference being held at the Waterfront in Cape Town on 20 Nov.
I spoke to Robynn from Encyclomedia who is overseeing the event preparation and Robynn has informed us that there is an early bird special that is still running (it ends 3 Nov).If you’re in Cape Town, I strongly recommend this for anyone who’s running a small or medium-size business: awesome tools and techniques to learn, great speakers and a pretty damn good rate (R2500 for the full day).
Book giveaway, yeeha!
Robynn was stoked that I’m writing this article, so she has offered, only to Ideate readers, five copies of an excellent book called “A Perfect Press Release – Or Not?” by Jennigay Coetzer, worth R250. It’s an excellent book for anyone wanting to learn how to write the perfect press release and to better understand the PR process.
So, all you have to do is sign up for the event (click here to go to the registration form) and quote ‘Ideate’ in the ‘Leave a note’ section. Robynn has promised 5 copies to the first 5 delegates who sign up.

Heads up…your link to “great speakers” is broken …

No problem – I remember chatting to you about this at the Heavy Chef and I’m stoked that it’s all coming together.
This is a valuable service you’re offering for small business owners: teaching them PR is like giving them a match to light a marketing fire. It’s hugely pervasive, yet amazingly cost-effective.

Thanks Eve, not sure why – it seems to be working now.

Thanks Fred.
Yes, PR is such a cost-effective way to get exposure for a business. With the current economic troubles, it’s going to be even more important to learn these PR strategies to keep business flourishing on a small marketing budget.
