This came in the post today. It sounds cool – any budding writers out there? (Robert Jewell, I’m looking at you mate!)
Hi there,
Myself and a partner are launching a new business magazine in Dec/Jan that will be targeted specifically at new businesses, in the Western Cape.
We are looking for both content and advertisers, and was wondering whether any of your readers would be interested in either of these marketing possibilities?
As far as content goes, we are looking for any reasonably well written articles relating to something of interest to new businesses – other contributors have provided articles on employee contracts, recruitment and BBBEE for small business, to give you an idea.
Similarly, since the mag will be a 100 page glossy affair, it would be an ideal advertising vehicle for anyone interested in marketing their companies to new businesses, and at R 5 100 – 00 for a full colour, full page advertisement, with several cheaper options, right down to a R 175 – 00 business card sized ad, it is affordable!
Circulation will be 5000 copies bi monthly to begin with, meaning advertisers and contributors would have their message on display for two months instead of one.
One last thing is this – we are not looking for content from professional writers. We want small business owners involved in the businesses they write about, and while we don’t pay for content, they will have their name, and their businesses, as well as their contact details, included in the byline. Free advertising. We’ll also proofread, edit and “polish” their articles before printing them.
Thanks for your time,
Regards,
Tamara

Sorry guys. There’s no phone number on the email either. Hopefully Tamara reads Ideate regularly enough to respond to your comments.

Hi all,
Sorry about the email issue – according to my partner, the graphic and web site guy, our DNS settings are still not updated, which means I’m not getting mail, and our site is somewhere in cyberspace. Not good!
But, you can contact me on my temporary address, caliente.sa@gmail.com, if you’d like!
Teething problems. Grrr..
