Let’s repeat that: “More than R50 billion is wasted on bad marketing in SA every year.”
Yee-up, you read that right: Billion. Not Million. Billion.
50 billion rand.
That’s hectic, man. Hectic.
So, Ideate readers (as most of you represent the small and medium size business communities), if you feel that your marketing may be bad, consider following these steps:
Step 1: Read this excellent article (it’s by Chris Moerdyk about “How to profit from tough economic times”).
Step 2: Stop advertising, and start marketing.
Step 3. If you haven’t already done so, figure out what your message is, and what’s special about it through your customers’ eyes.
Step 4. Start building a community, rather than an audience.
Step 5: Watch this video below (or click here). It’s a Microsoft thing but it’s still pretty cool.
