Hi Ideate readers!
Thanks for all the positive feedback, it’s great to hear from you.
I try to keep my blogs as relevant and informative as possible, particularly in light of the economic environment and events happening in South Africa.
Is there any issue or question that you would like me to address in my next blog?
Send me an e-mail or comment on this post and I will try and cover the topics you request.
Warm regards,

Hi Claire
I wonder what your ideas are about bullying and verbal abuse at the workplace. I have a few friends working for the same company who are all struggling with the same (quite senior) person. Even those not reporting to him have handed in resignations because of the way he shouted at them, etc. But they were then challenged to work on their relationship with him and prove that they can improve it. And persuaded to stay on. Some of them are still there 4 years later, but their self-esteem all but gone. Should a bully be seen as a challenge?

Hi Liezl,
I run an Human Resource Consultancy and I;m afraid I don’t know the first thing about starting an events company.
The first step with starting any business is a comprehensive business plan- you can generally find books detailing how to create a Business Plan in Exclusive books.
Good luck!

Hi Barefoot Billionaire,
Its horrible to be bullied in any situation, from the schoolyard to the workplace. My advice to your friends would be to submit a formal written grievance to the bully’s superior. The organisation will be required to launch an investigation into the allegation and the employees will be protected from any victimisation resulting from the allegation.
Better to tackle these issues head on than go through years of hell.
