Future kids, future business

This picture got me thinking about the future generation.
These little guys painted a Google search bar for “the best daddy every” which returns their dads name ‘Jason Shellen’ as the number 1 result. Jason must be very proud. Maybe these kids had some help from mom – but it still proves the point that children today are growing up with a completely different world view than we had at that age.
With a technology head start like this, who knows in what kind of entrepreneurialism we will see emerging from this new generation – all this taking place as we sit on our front stoep, sipping on our Earl Grey, rocking on our trusty old La-Z-Boy (our Cold Fusion powered La-Z-Boy that is) and pondering the distant memory of Google’s rise and fall.
Interesting times these.

Hi Shane,
There is a quite a bit more context to this picture than the image shows. Jason Shellen was a Google employee who was previously apart of Pyra Labs (the guys who built Blogger) and his kids painted this for him on his last day of working for Google. I can’t find the reference from when I initially stumbled across this, but it was implied that his kids were happy that he was leaving Google to spend more time with them (I may however be completely off kilter on this recollection). Classic. If you actually do a search for ‘best daddy ever’ in Google this pic comes up #1.

Andrew, thanks for the clarification on the photo – nice little spin to the story. Good guess about Mom helping out!
