Adesso in Italian means ‘now!’ I know this because my Italian brother-in-law says this all the time to his brood of 4 kids. It also describes how I feel when I get my usual caffeine withdrawal just after lunch.
I had some time between meetings on a rainy Cape Friday afternoon, and chose to pop into this little spot on Rondebosch Main Road in the ‘burbs of Cape Town. Adesso is a safe haven and a great-looking place to take respite from traffic.
The coffee arrived with a smile, always a good sign, and I was impressed by the presentation. The head was slick, with a good concentration of foam (thick, low and syrupy; not high and fluffy). I raised it to my nose, breathed in a few whiffs of the aroma.
Upon the first sip, I was pleasantly surprised – this was a good cup of coffee. It was certainly a better than average offering to savour while watching the Cape Town winter dominate the world outside.
Location: Fountain Shopping Centre, Cnr. Belmont & Main Roads, Rondebosch, Cape Town
Internet: My Vodafone USB modem was at full tilt
Cappuccino price: R12
Meeting potential out of ten: 5 – there’s a nice vibe about the place, but it’s a bit too exposed for a deal clincher
Coffee rating out of ten: 8

That sure does look luvely! I’m driven by those molecules…
Just a quick suggestion: Why do you not do your reviews microformatted in the hReview format? See: http://microformats.org/wiki/hreview
I’m punting this cause we’re planning on doing something with microformats, but as senseless as it is for you guys to do it since it is never used, it is just as difficult for us to do what we’d like when nobody does it! Vicious circle, I know…

I enjoy your coffee reviews and am always on the lookout for a new venue…
However, you need to visit Newport Deli in Mouille Point and have a “flat white” – ask for it by name and order it large…
