Ek dink Bullard se punchline van ’someone to blame’ is waaroor die stuk eintlik gaan. Bullard spot die huidige maghebbers, en dis ‘n goeie ding om te doen. Maar die inleidende deel is te beledigend, al is hoe ‘n ongekoloniseerde Afrika sou wees regtig die tema nie, is dit hoe 95% van mense dit gaan lees. Boonop moet iemand wat so skryf almal eweredig laat deurloop. En ek is bevrees Bullard het wit Engelse, Afrikaners, bloggers en Duitse herdershond eienaars afgeskeep en te veel op die WaBenzi, oftewel die huidge maghebbers gekonsentreer. Mag mens met swart mense spot? [...]

There is some truth in his article. I can only hope he was not referring wholesomely to all bloggers but a section of bloggers. Blogging is here to stay.

So, who was the real winner in this all? David Bullard, obviously. I can’t help but think that the reaction from the blogosphere has fueled the flames. This was the main reason why I made the decision to say nothing on my blog, even though it pretty guaranteed a whole load of extra hits. It was a great move by Bullard, if(when) he decides to enter into the blogging fraternity, he is guaranteed instant mass readership, all thanks to the bloggers deriding him!!!

I’m amazed that DB can actually lash out at bloggers in the way he has. Its a case of the pot calling the kettle black if you ask me. After all, his print column is no more that a blog of his own. In fact, I would call him the grandpa of bloggers given the lead time he had to exercise his right as a blogger. Great read though. Very entertaining.

…and David is a chain-smoking, manic-depressive.

Just a note: (before anyone takes this post the wrong way) I’m trying to make a point that – if you’re a blogger – you give yourself away by overreacting to David Bullard’s article. Most of the bloggers I know are way cool people who are certainly not racists, get loads of sex and are actually pretty good writers. I also happen to know some pretty talented journalists.

So, in conclusion, in a roundabout way, this post is making a stand against gross generalisation
