Topics for 2007

I’m back and raring to get stuck into work after a crazy 10 day break in Hermanus. It was your stereotypical South African holiday. Too much sun. Too much booze. Too much food. Now, sitting in front of my laptop, blogging is actually a walk in the park compared to the excesses of my vacation. And so, it is my pleasure to announce that the three Ideate amigos had a meeting this morning and decided on some topics for 2007.

Some of these were mentioned in a post earlier in the year, but these are the ones we liked.

  • ‘Wish I had thought of that’ – crazy, cool, unforgettable ideas that work in small business.
  • Interviews with entrepreneurs – including failures and way-out ideas / industries like musicians, sportsmen and spaza shops.
  • Best SA small business office / work environment.
  • Changing Spaces – examples and tips on improving your work space, kinda like an ‘Extreme Office Makeover’ edition
  • Small business tech tools you can’t live without.
  • Making SA better through small business (environment, poverty, employment etc.)
  • Financial tips to save your business.
  • Township Stories – stories from real heroes i.e. people making business work in the townships.
  • The search for South Africa’s greatest cup of coffee*.
  • Best business meeting spots in SA*.

*The idea is that these last two may eventually get us free chow / drinks.

So, what d’ya think? Is this a blog to take the SA business community by storm or what?

    Yo dudes – some great ideas (naturally). How about some financial tips for entrepreneurs / small businesses. I remember really enjoying your ‘debt’ post toward the end of last year. I haven’t got a financial bone in my body and reckon you’d do well to cater for idjits like me :)

    Also, financial keywords will work wonders for the search results…

    I’ll back Mike on that one. I live with an accountant and I don’t understand a word she says so some plain talking would be great.
