Cape Town's finest!

Hello and greetings from the Ideate team, this the first day back on the job in 2007.

Andrew and I were chatting this morning, and he informed me that Ideate has been growing substantially over the last couple of months. Big up to those faithful servants of business who’ve been following our progress since launching the site (at the same time as we launched the Bug Zapper website in 2005). At the beginning of 2006 we had a handful of readers. Now it seems we’ve got over 2000 unique visitors a month. Not too shabby for a small niche site like ours. It seems there are a bunch of folk out there also interested in the madness that is the Ideate studio’s daily musings. Small business is the way, the truth and the light! Yeh baby.

So, what’s in store for the New Year?

Well, so far, the year seems pretty rosy. What we know for sure is that our passion for small business will continue unabated. There are a few ideas on the content side, but we’ll wait for the Maven to return from his break before we confirm anything. Some of the things to look forward to:

  • Interviews with successful small business owners
  • The search for the ‘Great South African Cup of Coffee’.
  • Passive income ideas
  • Great small business marketing ideas

Any ideas or suggestions are welcome. In the meantime, keep up the support. It is much appreciated!

    Happy New Year over there from over here.

    As for coffee: I’m famous for my brew (Dutch strength ;-) )

    And do you really want ‘passive income ideas’? Aren’t they boring??

    I’m looking forward to reach my own new goals this year: getting better contacts with what I dubt the ‘Arids’ caterogy – Architects, Interior Designers and Small/Project Developers for repeat sales and frequent recommendations. One way of contacting is alreayd in place; this April we will have a large stand at the Business-2-Business Exhibition of BusinessLinkKent and we’re (I’m) busy in ’streamlining’ this event.

    Automating ‘reminders’ is getting in place better and better – and working! (Mamut CRM software – if someone is looking for a good program) and oh…. my desk is so filled with little notes I can’t make my mind up on what to start first (very, very glad the Holiday season is over so I can just work – since my work has become my hobby and vice versa). Have to make a list first I fear ;-)

    Aw don’t be like that! Lists make our posts look longer and more important.

    Karen, looking forward to sipping some of that coffee when I get over there. I agree with your sentiment about passive income. It’s a boring subject – that is, until you kick back while watching your bank balance clock up.

    Fred, still think your bank balance clocks up faster with active income ideas ;-)
    Action = reaction still counts.
