Check out the picture posted here. On the weekend, my wife and I were driving around looking at houses (we’re in the market), and I swerved to the side of the road when I saw this sign, hopped out and took a picture. (Hey, I’m a pretty wierd guy – my wife will testify to this.)
Twin Coatings is a painting company in and around the Mother City. I’ve seen these signs around Cape Town for the past couple of years, and I’ve always digged this logo: the moustaches, the cheesy name, the awesome hairstyles… what more can you want? I’m not sure what their brand strategy is, but if it is to make a straightforward approach to explaining what they do, then I reckon they are on to it. I imagine the owners of this company to look not dissimilar to the Thomson Twins in TinTin. Shane, in our studio, says that he sees two branded bakkies parked next to each other at the gym, and reckons that they must belong to the owners. So, now I’m on a personal mission to spot them and see if they really look like the logo. Watch this space – I’ll try and get some actual photographs of the Twin Coatings guys, maybe even an interview.
For a hilarious, weird and memorable brand identity, these boys get the brand of the week.
