A British 19-year-old entrepreneur has founded a regional airline and said he has plans to launch a service next week. “We are not going to become another low-cost carrier,” said Halstead. “We have low costs, but we are more of a conventional airline serving routes that are too thin for the bigger players.” The flights will include in-flight catering and ticketless booking. Halstead’s business plan includes an expectation that Alpha One will carry 75,000 passengers in its first year of operation. Halstead gained his air transport license at the age of 18. “Age is just a number. I plan to bring an innovative 21st Century approach to regional aviation and I also have an older, experienced team to call on,” he said. [Link]
